Survey Function

This is a step by step guide on how to build a project to implement a data collection survey about demographic information of households. At the end of the guide you will be able to generate a project as shown in this gif:

  1. Create a project on the survey builder

2. Give a name to the project. The name will work as an ID , so you cannot use blank spaces or this kind of symbols: , [ ] * ‘ ; ( ) ~ { } / | @ # ¢ ∞ ¬ ÷ “ ” ≠ ´ ‚ ñ ! . · $ % & ? ¿ A correct pratice of an ID name would be: household_survey

  • Touch ‘+’ on the survey option

  1. Input a title for your survey e.g. ‘demographic survey’

    • Touch ‘+’ to add a chapter

  1. Name the chapter e.g. ‘Household ID’

    • Touch ‘+’ to add questions

In this example we are going to use 6 different type of questions to showcase the variety of available options. Remember that the app is not limited to build a specific number of questions/answers or to follow any specific order. The survey can be as long or as short as it’s necessary.

General settings for each question:

  • Text: The first field of each question, this will be the text that will be show to the surveyor, it can have an infinite length
  • Every question will require an unique ID. The ID will be the name of the column in the database, so please do not use spaces or this kind of symbols: , [ ] * ‘ ; ( ) ~ { } / | @ # ¢ ∞ ¬ ÷ “ ” ≠ ´ ‚ ñ ! . · $ % & ? ¿
  • After designing each question touch the ‘tick’ icon located at the top-left of the screen to add each question to your project
  • Open Text
    • Expected answer: Any text with an infinite length

  • Open Number
    • Expected answer: Any number with an infinite length

  • Multiple Choice
    • Expected answer: One option chosen from the list
    • Specific requirements:
      • Activate the ‘other’ to add a blank option in which the user will be able to input text
      • Add a value to each answer (This is the value that will be saved in the database, it can be same as the show text)
    • Touch ‘+’ to add an option to the list

  • Checkbox
    • Expected answer: Choose only one or more options from a list
    • Touch ‘+’ to add an option to the list
    • Activate the ‘other’ to add a blank option in which the user will be able to input text

  • Order List
    • Expected answer: Order each option by dragging.
    • Touch ‘+’ to add an option to the list
    • Activate the ‘other’ to add a blank option in which the user will be able to input text
    • Add a value to each answer

  • Photo
    • Expected answer: Camera activation to take and store a picture

  • You can see each of the questions added in this list the icon indicates the chosen type of question.

  • If you want to make any modification just touch the question and then the ‘pencil’ this will activate the ‘editing’ screen again.

    • You can also ‘delete’ or ‘duplicate’ the question
    • Hold for a second the qustion to drag and change the order
  • Touch the ‘tick’ icon to return to the chapter section

Touch the ‘glasses’ icon to test the build survey. Swap each question to follow the flow of the survey.

‘Return’ to the main screen and touch the ‘tick’ icon to save your project
